Nestled into the face of a north-facing hill with soil built over centuries of deposit from a creek that cuts through the valley sits a small vineyard. We estimate the blocks of Mourvedre and Petite Sirah to be a few decades old. This little slice of Temecula Valley Wine country will one day be our home. In the meantime, we've been learning the ropes of viticulture and wine-making. Bottles of Haven Vineyards 2019, 2020, and 2021 vintage are available now, with more vintages to follow shortly.

A small vineyard nestled amongst orange groves in the shadow of many prestigious Temecula Valley wineries. This block's southern exposure perfectly ripens the sun-loving Sangiovese grape. Garnet in color with a nose of black cherries and leather dashed with warm baking spices. The 2019 McMillan Vineyard was our first grape harvest, with memories of that night now encapsulated in these bottles.

A small vineyard nestled in a beautifully landscaped estate on the edge of Wine Country. Tre Cavalli Montepulciano is split between two blocks. Each sitting in a small valley allowing the cool night air to gently extend its ripening. The fruit produces a wine with rich blackberry pie aromatics, moderate acidity, and a noticeably soft tannic structure. 2019 was the first vintage we harvested at the Tre Cavalli Vineyard, and it will certainly not be the last.

The often forgotten Italian grape, Nero d' Avola, is a rare grape primarily grown in southern Sicily. The wine is inky in color with a boldness that can stand up to some of the biggest wines in the world. This example of Nero d' Avola, sourced from a small vineyard in the San Joaquin Valley, is dominated by ripe black currant and blackberry jam aroma. Yet, notes of white peppercorn and dried chili peppers sneak in on the backend of the pallet. An extra few months in new oak barrels give the wine bourbon-like vanilla notes. Our 2019 Nero D' Avola is the boldest wine of our 2019 varietals.

Item descriptionThe Palumbo Family are pioneers of the Temecula Valley, and their vineyard has become legendary since they acquired the land in 1998. The soil beneath the Cabernet Sauvignon block is rich in nutrients by virtue of being adjacent to the creek. Like the vineyard's thirsty roots, this wine's flavor runs deep with notes of grandma's butter crust blueberry pie. The dedication to the quality from the vineyard to the cellar has undoubtedly made this wine one of the best from our 2020 vintage.

As fate would have it, a full two years before purchasing the vineyard Haven is built on, we acquired Mourvedre grapes from the 20-year-old vineyard on the corner of Camino Del Vino. Little did we know we would know that that vineyard terraced into the hill would one day be our home. The two Mouvedre blocks at Haven produce a complex wine with prominent flavors of blueberry and boysenberry with subtle smokey notes in the finish.

Every year and every harvest is a unique moment in time; we wanted a way to encapsulate the beauty of our Estate at that moment. Haven One is the reflection of this special moment in our vineyard and in our cellar. Produced in a small quantity and held back for future generations, this blend is limited and held close to our hearts. This year's vintage consisting of 65% Mourvedre and 35% Petite Sirah is bursting with flavors of blackberry, blueberry and boysenberry, with buttery pie crust and toasted marshmallows topped by light campfire aromatics.

There's a belief in the valley that Temecula could be the premier region for growing Petite Sirah due to its warm and dry summers that develop an unmatched depth flavor, while staving off issues common to the varietal. The Haven Estate vineyard, with its west north-west hillside planting along the De Portola wind corridor, allows for its signature inky color that leads into pronounced flavors of sweet plums and rich dark chocolate dipped cherries to develop and fully ripen into the beautiful wine here.
